AMAX was founded in 1980 by Helen Glaser. Originally named AIM (American Institute of Modeling), the agency was designed to be a developmental program for aspiring models. After years of success, the focus shifted to become a full service agency, now known as AMAX.
Nearly 30 years later, AMAX has developed lasting relationships with clients worldwide. AMAX represents models and actors with divisions of High Fashion, Commercial Models, Children, and Lifestyle. AMAX has represented such stars as Reese Witherspoon, Ashley Judd, MJ Garrett of MTV’s The Real World, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Kassie Miller winner of CMT’s Ultimate Coyote Search, Ty Soares of Beauty and the Geek, Krystal Meyers Christian recording artist, Ben Dichiara of Bravo TV's Make Me A Supermodel, and many others.
Since July, 2009, AMAX has been under the ownership of Maximum Artist Creative Services, owned and operated by Cherylann Stephens and Mitchell Solarek. Both Mitchell and Cherylann come to AMAX with 40+ years of combined experience in the Fashion industry, having worked at ELITE/Chicago and as a Director at NEXT and Wilhelmina agencies in Los Angeles, CA. Since starting Maximum Artist Creative Services/MACS 4 years ago, Cherylann sets the standard by which hair and makeup artists, sylists, and photographers are represented and booked: an agency supported solely on fees generated from jobs booked. From Rolling Stone to Capitol Records, MACS|AMAX artists have worked extensively in the Country, Christian and General Music market. Now with extensive model representation, MACS|AMAX services a high number of projects in Nashville and the surrounding region. The philosophy is to represent quality not quantity, providing the client with artists and talent that have unmatched experience and training in modeling/commercial print/TV projects/fashion/catalog/etc...
